Catch Up

It feels like winter has been around our part of the US for centuries. I wish I was exaggerating, but the weekly snow pile ups and 32 or below temperatures have been consistent. Mother Nature has teased us with a day or two of spring here and there, but that quickly vanishes with some more snow and temp dips.

Suffice it to say we’ve all had enough of this.

Winter

And this.

Winter

I had a quick break in early March from the white fluffy, freezing cold stuff when I headed down to North Carolina for some beach time for Alice’s bachelorette weekend. While it did rain and the wind did howl the first night and day we were all there, it didn’t matter much. Saturday came along with sunshine and warmth.

That of course meant spending most of the time outside. Walking on the beach. Sipping wine. Relaxing. And laughing so very much.

Pretty fantastic right? There are more pictures here in case you feel like browsing some more beach/water related photos because yuck snow.

Except we eventually got back to this.

Those are three different weather events that occurred once a week. That last snow picture? Was from this week.

No we don’t live in Canada. None of us DC metro area folks are amused.

As you can see, there has been ample drowning in snow. Everyone, except for my husband who hopes for daily snow days, are wishing for some warmth sans snow. At this point even 40F or 50F degree weather would do.

So you’ll excuse me as I keep dreaming of water, warmth and delightful sunsets.

My coworkers with kids say that even their kids don’t feel like playing in the snow anymore. It’s almost April. Enough already.

    • Same with mine! If the kids are sick of it, you know it’s been just TOO MUCH.

  2. It’s no wonder that even though temps were still in the 40s yesterday morning, we ran into 4 different families from daycare, all heading out to the park. The sun? The above freezing temps? Most definitely a cure for the cabin fever we’ve been feeling this winter!

  3. Can you even believe what happened Sunday afternoon? Seriously now….I love the photo of the seashells and you got EVERYONE jumping in a shot. That’s gotta be like 1-in-a-million shot. Good job girl!

Omg, I was SO very not happy when I saw the rain, then ice, then SNOW falling. I actually shut the blinds because I was that mad.

And thank you! Counting to 3 helped! 😉
