The First Day of Fall
The cool, crisp air brushed against my cheek at 6:30 this morning as I made my way to the bus stop. It finally feels like fall around these parts.
The changing seasons is something I look forward to in the DC-VA-MD area. Each season takes it’s time to arrive and sticks around for a little while, giving us the chance to take it in (even sometimes when it means it’s well below 30F or shooting past 90F).
I walked out of metro looking up at the sky to find clouds covering the sunrise that was trying to make its way through. A whiff of pumpkin from somewhere hit my nostrils and instantly reminded me of warm coffee, cinnamon, and hot apple crisp.
The early morning rush in DC on Friday is silenced by the hush of sleepy travelers. My most favorite time of the day. It’s comfortably and peacefully quiet.
Happy Friday kids. Remember to be kind to others.
