Oh Please

iPhone, vsco cam edits, Lebanon

I’m for prohibiting the use of certain guns like automatic rifles and military-grade weapons because exactly ZERO people need those type of weapons.

I’m for passing laws nationally that require each and every individual who purchases a gun to be registered.

I’m for passing laws nationally that restrict where guns can be carried.

I’m for passing laws nationally that prohibit those who have been incarcerated from ever owning and/or purchasing a gun.

I am FOR very strict gun control.

I’m for each and every woman choosing what she would like to do with her own body, be it abort a fetus because for whatever reason, or if she wants to have a child.

And lastly, STOP giving a pass to white males who go on a shooting rampage, savagely killing and terrorizing innocent people by saying they are “mentally ill.” This is not mental illness. This is a deep, down desire to hurt others.

It is domestic terrorism. Call it for what it is.

Need more? Read this perfectly and well written blog post on the difference between mental illness and violence.

  1. I wouldn’t call use of weapons domestic terrorism in all cases (because it depends on the motive), but I’m totally with you on gun laws and weapon restricting laws. We have them in Europe, and there is a HUGE difference in how often we see shootings compared to the US. Most Americans will hate me for saying this, but it is the truth. There is a strong correlation between how easy it is to get a gun, and the frequency of shooting events.

I don’t hate you! I agree, that correlation does exist. People who are for gun rights here seem to be more worried about the government taking away their guns and pay no attention to cuts in welfare, education, and so on that continues to happen or how much power corporations have (i.e., Citizen United). They just worry about someone taking their guns. *sigh*

Hypocrites. The problems are so much deeper rooted than just calling everyone who goes out with a gun to shoot people “mentally ill”. They are of course not mentally in their righ mind but it has nothing to do with (diagnosable) mental illness. There is such a disconnect on how people approach this problem…. unless the US starts taking care of its people properly, shooting events will continue to happen.

There really is a huge disconnect. The US has a very bad gun problem.

  3. I’ve got a dad and brother who are gun collectors but I support you on every point. We do not nor will we ever own a gun. Unless the world goes all Walking Dead on us, then we’d consider it.

I can’t believe there was yet another shooting after I posted about this.

Also, I think we’re going to need a lot more than just guns if we’re run over by zombies. But yeah, that’s the time we’d definitely need them.
