Another year eh?

2015

I’ve always thought it funny how we humans like to make sure we count every second, every day, every month, and every year. We think that just because the sun sets and will rise again tomorrow that things will be immensely different – especially when a new year is on the horizon.

But everything in life takes its time. It’s all about ups and downs and the in betweens. Nothing, though, is ever constant.

This past year has been nothing short of interesting. We spent a lot of time with our friends going to dinners, lunches, shows, visiting breweries and wineries, and having a grand old time. Those are some memories I’ll continue to treasure, especially when the more difficult times in life come around.

The one thing that knocked me down the most was my father’s stroke this summer. Seeing someone so immensely close to you, who as a child you thought was invincible, suddenly crumbling right in front of you is nothing short of horrifying and heartbreaking all at the same time. I’m thankful he’s ok and doing well because it could have been a lot worse, but at the same time I worry and feel like I’m waiting for the inevitable. It will come one day – a very far away day I hope – but I know I’ll never be ready for it.

So with each passing year, as I always do, I look back and am so thankful for my family, my friends, Matt, and all the adventures life has brought our way.

2015 you were a roller coaster ride. Thanks for the memories.
