After a pretty jam-packed and busy Saturday, Matt and I ran some errands on Sunday, ending with picking out and buying a Christmas tree.

Since I moved to the US several years ago, I never bought a real tree, but either had a small or large fake one. In fact the past two years I had become quite humbug about Christmas that I didn’t even put up our fake tree and then decided to give it away last year.

It was taking up precious storage space.

So for the first time since moving to the US, I got an actual, real-live tree. And it’s perfect. It smells wonderful and it’s so soft. It took me a while to decorate it yesterday along with two trips to Target (which, by the way is where Christmas goes to die), but I did it.

She’s such a beaut. Now I just need to remember to water the tree each day.

Fingers crossed I can keep it somewhat alive until after the new year.
